Panto & Drama

Brailes Village Hall – A Stage for All

Our Village Hall’s well-equipped stage—complete with lighting rig and sound deck—offers the perfect setting for all kinds of drama!

Every other year the village puts on a Panto. It’s a much anticipated event and tends to be performed in February. There are two evening performances and a Sunday matinee. We have an eclectic bunch of willing performers from the village and local community and plenty……..some talent! The Panto Group is open to all. Do you fancy acting? Can you offer technical support, stage management, costume skill, handy with a paintbrush? All offers to join in are always welcome…Oh no they’re not…Oh yes they are!!!

Profits are invested back into the community through drama for children and a chosen local charity. Feedback from Brailes school showed that last year our support made it possible for them to host an immersive ‘Jungle Book’ performance by a musical theatre company, two drama workshops during Shakespeare Week, a visit to the RSC, a costume drama workshop at Shakespeare’s Birthplace and the purchase of accessible books to support focussed learning of The Tempest. This is panto madness with a purpose and supporting future drama kings and queens makes it even more worthwhile.

There remains an opportunity for a Drama Club in the village should anyone be prepared to run one. No permission required just a willingness to give up some time to set it up. The Village Hall and Pavilion are the perfect spot for rehearsals and performances.
